For Virginia Residents: Thy Fruitful Mind (TFM) is currently in-network with Sentara, Aetna, UnitedHealthcare, Optum, Anthem, Carelon, and Blue Cross Blue Shield. Insurance coverage and client responsibility vary by plan, so we encourage you to contact your insurance provider to verify your mental health benefits before beginning services.

For North Carolina Residents: Services are currently offered on a self-pay basis. We do not bill insurance for North Carolina clients at this time. However, superbills are available upon request for clients who wish to submit claims to their insurance provider for possible out-of-network reimbursement.

A superbill is a detailed receipt for therapy services that you can submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement. TFM does not guarantee reimbursement, as coverage and reimbursement rates vary by insurance plan. We always recommend contacting your insurance provider before beginning services to determine whether your plan includes out-of-network mental health benefits.

Questions to ask your insurance provider:

  • Does my health insurance plan include mental or behavioral health benefits?

  • Does my plan include out-of-network mental health benefits?

  • How many therapy sessions does my plan cover per calendar year?

  • Do I need prior authorization or a referral from my doctor for services to be covered?

  • Do I have an out-of-network deductible, and have I met it?

  • What percentage of the cost will my plan reimburse for out-of-network services?

  • Is there a limit on the amount my plan will reimburse per session?

TFM is a cashless practice and accepts major credit and debit cards. Eligible therapy expenses may also be paid using Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) or Health Savings Accounts (HSA). Please check with your FSA or HSA administrator to confirm that your account can be used for your specific services.

FAQs

Who do you help?

We support women and teen girls through both individual and group therapy.

What approach do you use in therapy?

Therapy is tailored to your individual needs, goals, and experiences rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach. TFM uses a client-centered approach that incorporates evidence-based therapeutic techniques based on your specific needs. When desired, your Christian faith can also be thoughtfully integrated into the therapeutic process.

You can book a session by clicking the "Book A Consultation" button below to schedule a free 15-minute consultation where we’ll discuss your needs and what you’re looking for, and then decide the next steps together.

How do I book a session?
Is therapy confidential, especially in a virtual setting?

Yes. Your privacy and right to confidentiality are important to us. TFM follows applicable professional, ethical, and legal standards, including HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act), to protect the privacy and confidentiality of your health information. However, confidentiality has legal and ethical limits. There are certain circumstances in which disclosure of information may be required or permitted by law, including situations involving suspected abuse or neglect, serious and imminent risk of harm to yourself or others, or when information is required by a valid court order or other legal process.

Because TFM provides telehealth services, maintaining confidentiality is a shared responsibility. We recommend participating in sessions from a quiet, private, and secure space where you feel comfortable speaking openly and freely. Whenever possible, please use headphones or earbuds and avoid participating in sessions in public or shared spaces where others may overhear your conversation. Creating a private environment allows you to feel safe sharing and discussing personal information so you can get the most out of your sessions.

Do you provide in-person appointments?

At this time, TFM provides virtual therapy appointments only for both North Carolina and Virginia residents.
